# How to Delete Duplicate Photos on iPhone

> Open Photos, scroll to Utilities and tap Duplicates, then tap Merge on each set. To also catch look-alike shots such as bursts and edits, duplicate files, and see how much space you'll get back, use Lookpix.

## Use the Duplicates album in Photos

The Duplicates album appears once Photos has finished looking for copies, which can take a while after updating iOS or importing many photos.

1. Open Photos and scroll down to Utilities.
2. Tap Duplicates.
3. Tap Merge on a set to keep one photo, with the best quality and details, and move the rest to Recently Deleted.

## Find look-alikes and duplicate files with Lookpix

Lookpix finds exact copies by their contents, and look-alike shots, like bursts, a photo and its edit, or several tries at one moment, by what they show. It looks in your photo library and the folders you allow in Files, so a PDF saved twice is caught too.

Each set shows the size of every copy and the one Lookpix suggests keeping; tap another to keep that instead. Before you delete, it shows the total space you'll get back.

Reviewing duplicates and deleting one at a time is free. Deleting many at once is part of Lookpix Pro.

1. Open Clean Up in Lookpix and tap Exact Duplicates or Similar Photos.
2. Check each set and the copy marked Keep.
3. Tap Review Removal, then confirm. Photos go to Recently Deleted for 30 days.
